This service measures what a discharge carries: organic load, solids, nutrients, metals and toxic compounds, against the limits in your consent to operate and the CPCB discharge norms. Inlet and outlet samples tested together show how well a treatment plant is working.
Filing periodic effluent results with the State Pollution Control Board
Applying for or renewing consent to establish or operate
Checking ETP or STP performance after commissioning or an upset
Assessing sludge before disposal, reuse or co-processing
What we test on this service
Panels are built from the list below. Tell us the market and the specification and we select the parameters it calls for rather than selling you the whole sheet.
BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, pH, and oil and grease
Ammoniacal nitrogen, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate and phosphate
Heavy metals and trace elements
Phenols, cyanide, sulphide and fluoride
Pesticide residues and organic micropollutants
Total and faecal coliforms
Sludge characterisation, including metals in sludge
Treatment plant inlet and outlet performance

How the analysis runs
Instrumentation and controls
Every batch runs with the controls its method requires, on calibrated equipment, and a second analyst reviews the data before the report is released.
Standards and methods
Results are reported against the method below, or against your buyer's specification where you send one with the sample.
Ask for the full NABL scope document if you need to confirm accredited coverage before sending the sample.
Not sure which parameters your buyer wants?
Send us the specification. We will tell you what to test and what it costs, at no charge.
The approvals this work is issued under
Wastewater scopes sit under NABL TC-5843 and our Central Pollution Control Board approval, and reports are issued in the format pollution board filings ask for.

Questions we get asked
How often do I need to test my effluent?
Your consent to operate sets the frequency, usually monthly or quarterly. We can plan a sampling schedule that matches it.
Can you collect the sample?
Yes. Our sampling team draws and seals samples on site so the chain of custody holds up.
How soon must the sample reach you?
Within 24 hours, chilled. BOD and microbiology change quickly once the sample is drawn, so send it the same day.
Which bottle should I use?
Sterile glass for microbiology, clean plastic for general chemistry, and amber glass filled to the brim for organics. We supply bottles on request.
Should I test the inlet as well as the outlet?
Yes, if you want to know how the plant is performing. The outlet result shows compliance; the inlet and outlet together show treatment efficiency.
