Primary technique on this service
14,000 sq. ft.
Integrated laboratory in Jaipur
This service measures the restricted substances that RoHS rules cap in a product and its materials: lead, cadmium, mercury, total and hexavalent chromium, and the four restricted phthalates. Each result is a measured concentration reported next to its limit, so you can see at a glance whether the product conforms.
Exporting to a market or buyer that sets RoHS restricted-substance limits
Qualifying a new material, colourant or supplier
A buyer or retailer has asked for a RoHS test report
Re-checking a product after a change of formulation or process
What we test on this service
Panels are built from the list below. Tell us the market and the specification and we select the parameters it calls for rather than selling you the whole sheet.
Lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg) and total chromium (Cr)
Hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)]
Restricted phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP)
Quantitative elemental analysis by ICP-MS/ICP-OES
RoHS compliance assessment
Method
How the analysis runs
Instrumentation and controls
Every batch runs with the controls its method requires, on calibrated equipment, and a second analyst reviews the data before the report is released.

Questions we get asked
Do you test every material in a product separately?
Yes. RoHS limits apply to each homogeneous material, so a product with a plastic body, a printed label and a metal clasp is tested as separate materials. Tell us how the product is made and we will propose the split.
What is the difference between total chromium and hexavalent chromium?
Total chromium is all the chromium present. Hexavalent chromium is the restricted form. We measure total chromium first and test for hexavalent chromium where the result calls for it.
Which phthalates are covered?
The four restricted under the RoHS amendment: DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP, each reported against its limit.
Will the report work for my buyer?
The report states each result next to the RoHS limit, with the method used. If your buyer has its own restricted substance list, send it and we will report against it.
